Harris Establishes Engineering/Technology Center in San Antonio
Peachtree City, GA, March 10, 2006
Harris Waste Management Group, Inc. announced today that it has established a new Engineering/Technology center in San Antonio, Texas to support its Harris Shredder Division. The new facility will house Harris Vice President of Business Development and Technology, Javier Herrera, and an initial staff of four engineers. Additional personnel will be hired to meet increasing demand for Harris shredders, replacement castings, shredder downstream systems and global system installations.
The company will occupy offices in the Forum Office Building in Northwest San Antonio. Doug Sebastian, Vice President of Harris Waste Management Group stated, “Harris’ interest in San Antonio stemmed from the city’s well-known reputation as the home base of several shredder manufacturers, but also was swayed by the city’s ability to provide a diverse talent pool and highly skilled technical workers”.
“We are experiencing significant growth in the Harris Shredder division and the new center shows Harris’ commitment to the Shredder market,” said Javier Herrera, who also serves as Vice President of Harris Shredder. “The team members we have hired in San Antonio have extensive experience that brings immediate value to our efforts to lead the shredder industry in technology and provide the best shredding system available.”
